NEW YORK – Police are looking for a man and woman whose argument on a New York City street led to a good Samaritan's death.
Hugh Alfredo Tale-Yax (TAHL'-eh) was found dead on a street in Queens on April 18. He had been stabbed to death.
Police say Tale-Yax was walking behind the couple and tried to intervene in their fight. Authorities say that the man stabbed him, and that he and the woman ran off in different directions.
Surveillance video shows Tale-Yax lying face down on the sidewalk. Several pedestrians pass by but don't stay to help. It's unclear whether they see Tale-Yax's injuries or any blood.
Police say they believe no one called 911 until more than an hour after the stabbing.
