A child-like humanoid robot has been nominated to carry the Olympic Flame during the torch relay for the 2012 Games.
The iCub was nominated by Dr James Law at Aberystwyth University, to mark the centenary of the birth of the computer pioneer Alan Turing. The 3ft iCub was developed to study how the learning of toddlers can be replicated in robots.
